OUR APPROACH
At FutuReady, our treatment approach is guided by evidence-informed and child-centered frameworks. We are influenced by the Hanen Program and the Developmental, Individual-differences, Relationship-based (DIR®/Floortime™) Model, which emphasize the power of relationships and emotional connection in supporting a child’s growth.
We also integrate specialized approaches such as Sensory Integration to support self-regulation and functional participation, Therapeutic Listening to enhance auditory processing and attention, and Oral Placement Therapy (OPT) to strengthen the oral-motor foundation needed for speech and feeding. By combining these approaches, we create personalized, holistic plans that support each child’s unique developmental journey.
Sensory-Based Learning
Our sensory-based learning approach engages touch, movement, sound, and visual input to create rich, interactive learning experiences. This method is especially effective for neurodivergent children, helping them regulate their responses, stay focused, and better process information. At the same time, it benefits neurotypical learners by enhancing engagement, reinforcing concepts through multiple senses, and making learning more enjoyable and memorable. By meeting each child at their sensory and developmental level, we create an inclusive environment where all learners can thrive.
DIR®/Floortime™
The DIR® model is a framework of development that helps families and therapists design comprehensive therapy programs tailored to meet the specific challenges and strengths of each child. Through understanding your child’s unique preferences and individual differences, the model aims to help families and therapists create strong, natural foundations for all learning. The model outlines that interaction is the key to children’s learning. Strong interactions occur when children’s natural emotions, individual preferences, interests and relationships are acknowledged and used within intervention. This is how typical development occurs and intervention should mirror typical development. For more detailed information on this model, please visit www.icdl.com.
Hanen® Approach
The Hanen approach is based on the interaction based theory of language development. This method enables parents and professionals to transform their daily interactions with young children to build the best possible lifelong social, language and literacy skills. This includes children with or at risk of language delays and those with developmental challenges such as Autism Spectrum Disorder. Our expert and certified therapists lead Hanen training programs (More Than Words®) for parents. For more detailed information on this approach, please visit www.hanen.org.
